Eco-Friendly Shipping Materials

All of our packing materials are crafted from recyclable paper or cardboard. Even the box tape we use is made from paper with a water-based adhesive. This enables both the tape and the box to be recycled together. Additionally, we strive to utilize packaging materials that have been produced from recycled resources, whenever possible.

Eco-Friendly Product Packaging

Our products will come to you in various types of product packaging. This is packaging that is in addition to our shipping/packing materials. This is packaging that is meant to provide another layer of protection for your item, as a unique way to store your item, or make it easier for you to present your item to a gift receiver. Product packaging may be tissue paper, cloth gift bag, wooden box, cellophane pouch, or a combination of some of these. As with our shipping/packing materials, we do not use plastic. All of our product packaging is either meant to be kept and re-used, is recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable.

If your gift purchase comes in what appears to be a plastic pouch/bag, rest assured it is not plastic. These are true plant based cellophane bags. Unlike the man-made polymers in plastics, cellophane is a natural polymer made from cellulose, a component of plants and trees. This means that it can be broken down by micro-organisms in the soil just like decaying leaves are broken down. Due to this, they are NOT recyclable, but they are biodegradable and compostable. They can safely be disposed of with your other trash or composted. The cellophane bags we use are manufactured using cellulose from cottonwood trees that are grown and harvested for this purpose right here in the United States.
